# Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 7, 2026

Hey — thanks for being part of Doozi. We take your privacy seriously, and we want to be upfront about what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to the Doozi app (iOS and Android), our website at doozi.app, and any related services.

If you have questions about anything in here, reach out to us at hello@doozi.app.

1. What We Collect

Information You Give Us

Account info: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, username, and profile photo.
Creator profile info If you're a verified creator, we collect additional details like your bio, social media handles, location, and content categories.
Content and interactions: Videos you save, likes, comments, follows, and any other actions you take on the app.
Ambassador and marketplace info: If you join our ambassador program or participate in the creator marketplace, we collect information related to your applications, campaign participation, and collaboration details.
Communications: Messages you send us through the app, email, or other channels.

Information We Collect Automatically

Geo-location data: This is a core part of how Doozi works. When you save a video, it gets auto geo-tagged by location and organized into folders so you can find it when you're planning a trip. We collect location data associated with the content you interact with. You can manage location permissions through your device settings.
Device info: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version.
Usage data: How you use the app — what you browse, search, save, and interact with, along with timestamps and frequency.
Log data: IP address, browser type (on our website), referring URLs, and crash reports.

Information from Third Parties

Social login: If you sign up through a third-party service (like Google or Apple), we receive basic profile info from that service.
Creator marketplace: When you participate in campaigns through our creator marketplace, businesses you collaborate with may share relevant campaign and collaboration data with us.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

Run the app: Provide the social feed, save and geo-tag your videos, organize your folders, and enable social interactions like likes, comments, and follows.
Personalize your experience: Show you travel content and creators relevant to your interests and saved destinations.
Power the creator marketplace: Match creators with business campaigns, facilitate applications and collaborations, and manage the ambassador program.
Communicate with you: Send updates, feature announcements, creator opportunities, and respond to your questions.
Improve Doozi: Analyze usage patterns to make the app better, fix bugs, and develop new features.
Keep things safe: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and other harmful activity. Enforce our terms
Legal obligations: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

3. How We Share Your Data

We don't sell your personal data. Here's when we do share it:

Other users: Your profile info, creator content, and social interactions (likes, comments, follows) are visible to other Doozi users as part of the social experience. That's kind of the point.
Creator marketplace participants: If you're a creator applying to a business campaign (or a business posting one), relevant profile and campaign information is shared between parties to facilitate the collaboration.
Service providers: We work with third-party companies that help us run Doozi — hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, and similar services. They only access your data to perform work on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
Business transfers: If Doozi is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you if that happens.

4. Geo-Location Data

Location is central to how Doozi works — it's what makes your saved videos organized and useful for trip planning. Here's how we handle it:

- Videos you save are auto-tagged with the location associated with that content, organizing them into geo-location folders.
- We use location data to help you discover travel content relevant to destinations you're interested in.
- You control location permissions through your device settings. Note that disabling location access may limit some features.
- We do not continuously track your real-time location in the background.

5. Cookies and Tracking

On our website (doozi.app), we use:

Essential cookies: Required for the site to function properly.
Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it.
Marketing cookies: Used to deliver relevant content and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies.

In the app, we may use similar technologies (like mobile identifiers and analytics SDKs) to understand usage and improve the experience.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain exceptions (like legal obligations).
Data portability: Request your data in a structured, commonly used format.
Opt out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email we send, or adjust your notification preferences in the app.
Withdraw consent: Where we rely on consent to process your data, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@doozi.app. We'll respond within 30 days (or sooner where required by law).

For California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have additional rights including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

For EU/EEA and UK Residents

Under GDPR, we process your personal data based on: your consent, the performance of our contract with you (providing the app), our legitimate interests (improving our services), and compliance with legal obligations. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal, security, or business purposes (like fraud prevention or resolving disputes).

Some data (like anonymized usage analytics) may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form that can't identify you.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure access controls, and regular security reviews. That said, no system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

Doozi is designed for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we've collected data from someone under 18, we'll delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@doozi.app.

10. Third-Party Links

Doozi may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing any personal data with them.

 11. International Data Transfers

If you're accessing Doozi from outside the country where our servers are located, your data may be transferred across borders. We take steps to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this policy and applicable laws, including using standard contractual clauses where required.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. The "Effective Date" at the top will always reflect the latest version. We encourage you to check back periodically.
